You’ve just arrived at the airport of Santiago de Compostela, having flown directly from Dublin. You’re going to spend three months with a family called Pérez, and you’re expecting one of them to have come to collect you at the airport: but there’s no-one. You go to the Information Desk.
Acabas de llegar al aeropuerto de Santiago de Compostela, después de un vuelo directo desde Dublín. Vas a pasar tres meses con una familia que se llama Pérez, y cuentas con que uno de ellos haya venido al aeropuerto para recogerte: pero no hay nadie. Vas a Información.
Tú:Hola, Buenas tardes. Me llamo Daniel. Acabo de llegar de Dublín. ¿Sabe usted si alguien ha dejado un mensaje para mi? – Hello, Good afternoon. My name is Daniel. I have just arrived from Dublin. Do you know if anyone has left a message for me?
Ex. Hola, buenas tardes. He estado aquí toda la tarde, desde las doce, y no hay mensajes para nadie. – Hello, good afternoon. I’ve been here all afternoon, from twelve, and there are no messages for anyone.
Tú:Voy a pasar tres meses aquí en Santiago con una familia que se llama Pérez. Uno de la familia venía a recogerme al aeropuerto. Lba a llevar un cartel con mi nombre pero no veo a nadie. – I will spend three months here in Santiago with a family called Perez. One of the family member was coming to pick me up at the airport. They were going to wear a sign with my name but do not see anybody.
Ex. No se preocupe. ¿Tiene el número de teléfono de la familia Pérez? – Do not worry. Do you have the phone number of the Perez family?
Tú:Sí. Tengo el número de teléfono y he intentado llamar muchas veces. Pero lo único que oigo es el operador diciéndome que ya no existe el número. – Yes I have the phone number and tried to call many times. But all I hear is the operator telling me that the number does not exist.
Ex. ¿Quiere que haga yo un anuncio por el altavoz para ver si está en el café, por ejemplo? – Do you want me to do an announcement on the speakers to see if they are in café, for example?
Tú:Sí, por favor, muchísima gracias. Le estaría muy agradecido si hiciera un anuncio porque estoy muy confundido. No sé que hacer ahora. – Yes, please, thanks a lot. I would be grateful if you make an announcement because I’m very confused. I do not know what to do now.
